GhazzyTV's Absolution Necromancer Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Necropolis)
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. Most pieces should be Rare with Life and, of course, any lacking attributes/resistances. Modifiers which increase the level of your Absolution skill are most efficient, alongside those increasing minion damage across the board.
Only time you should not cap your elemental resistances is if you’re using the Doryani’s Prototype armor which moves all lightning resistance focus over to physical damage mitigation instead (mostly via armor).
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
Head | Life then Res/Attributes as needed (For high budget you can get a helmet with “+ to level of all minion skill gems) | Rare |
Amulet | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Chest | Tabula Rasa / Doryani's Prototype or rare with high life, Res/Attributes as needed | Unique/Rare |
Gloves | Algor Mortis | Unique |
Boots | Life then Res/Attributes as needed, getting the eldritch influence with Brittle is desired for endgame and bossing | Rare |
Belt | Darkness Enthroned | Unique |
Rings | Malachai's Artifice | Unique |
Weapon | Rare with + level of minion and/or spell skills | Rare |
Shield | Rare with %life recovered on block or The Surrender | Unique/Rare |
Armour Pieces
Many of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted. When crafting, I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are Rare, the main focus will be to have as much Life as possible and sort any attributes and resistances so we can reach the desired caps. However, there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although they will come with a higher price tag.
Helmet
This slot will use the “+1-2 to level of all minion skill gems” modifier if affordable but don’t forget to make sure you have a proper Life roll & any resistances and/or attributes if needed.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. +1-2 level of all minion skills
3. Elemental resistances if needed
4. Attributes if needed
5. Chaos resistance
Body Armour
For the low budget you can simply run any rare 6-Link with life and any Res/Attributes as needed or a Tabula Rasa. For higher budget you’ll want to start running the Doryani's Prototype.
Gloves
Since we are doing 100% lightning damage with this build we’ll want to utilize Algor Mortis which requires us to create a chilling ground effect ourselves which we do with Vortex via our Arcanist Brand which makes enemies take a ton of extra lightning damage.
Boots
Generic high life, movement speed with any Res/Attributes as needed.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Movement speed
3. Elemental resistances if needed
4. Attributes if needed
5. Chaos resistance
Belt
You may consider using Darkness Enthroned with Ghastly Eye Jewel providing Life, Energy Shield, and “#% minion damage when you’ve used a minion skill recently.” Alternately, you can use any rare belt with Life, resistances and/or attributes as needed. Having Ghastly Eye Jewel with minion cast speed is BIG for this build as the faster they start killing enemies the safer you are.
Jewels
For jewel sockets, we are looking for increased Life as the main modifier and the second modifier should always be any of the increased cast speed for minions modifiers. These modifiers are found together only on the Ghastly Eye Jewel.
Accessories
Amulet
High life, resistances & attributes as needed.
The anoint you want is Gravepact.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Attributes if needed
3. Elemental resistance if needed
4. Chaos resistance
Rings
Malachai's Artifice is our go-to solution here. It helps tank lightning resistance, while keeping Fire and Cold resistances relatively high. You should strongly consider applying catalysts to these to further increase elemental values.
Weapon
Increasing the level of our Absolution is key for high damage output so the optimal approach would be to get a Convoking Wand with both +1 level of minion skills and +1 level of all spell skill gems, however to keep the budget down you can find any 1-handed weapon with one of those modifiers and if possible with additional minion damage rolled on them. Do keep in mind that Absolution is also tagged with “Lightning” as well as “Physical” which opens up a handful of other +1 level X modifiers on the amulet as well as the weapon.
Shield
If The Surrender is too expensive, you’ll be using a generic shield with high life, preferably with an open suffix so you can bench-craft extra chance to block spells but most importantly it needs to be shaper influenced so you can get yourself “Recover % of life when you block” which will be your biggest source of defense with the build. This is probably the most expensive item for the low budget version:
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | “Seething” Divine Life Flask of “Sealing”, “Alleviation”, “Allaying” or “Assuaging” | Instant life flask that also removes bleed effects from you |
2 | Rumi's Concoction | This flask provides us with the remaining block % that we need to reach the caps |
3 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Basalt Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | The prefix modifier helps sustain the flask charges during map clearing & the flask provides increased physical damage mitigation whilst the suffix increase your armor significantly |
4 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Quartz Flask | Defensive layers with a Prefix modifier to help sustain flask charges, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
5 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Quicksilver Flask | The obvious movement speed flask with charge sustain prefix modifier, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
