BalorMage's Poison Summon Raging Spirits Necromancer Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Necropolis)
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. There are a few unique item options however, the remaining pieces should be Rare with Life and of course any lacking attributes/resistances.
You are going to need to stay above 651 Energy shield in order to cast Divine Blessing – Haste. The easiest way to achieve this is to focus on Armour/Es bases for your gear.
My quick list of recommended approach for this build would then be:
Non-PoisonItem Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
---|---|---|
Head | Life then Res/Attributes as needed +1-2 level of all minion skills | Rare |
Amulet | The Jinxed Juju | Unique |
Chest | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Gloves | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Boots | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Belt | Darkness Enthroned | Unique |
Rings | Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Weapon | +1 to level of all spell (or minion) skill gems | Rare |
Shield | Recover life on block, spell damage block, Life or Aegis Aurora (and take Mind Over Matter) | Unique/Rare |

Armour Pieces
A lot of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Since most items in this build are Rare, the main focus will be to have as much Life as possible and sort out any Attributes & Resistances, as we need to reach the desired caps. However, with that said there are some juicy choices one can take to increase the build’s efficiency, although it does come with a higher price tag.
Helmet
This piece is only going to be focusing on Life, Resistances & any needed attributes. If you’re able to get the modifier “+1-2 to level of all minion skill gems” that would be a very nice bonus!
Body Armour
For a lower budget, you’ll simply be looking for high Life with any resistances and/or attributes as needed. We can use a Tabula Rasa or purchase a corrupted 6-Linked chest piece with the correct colours unless you have the currency to go straight to the poison oriented high-budget chest: The Covenant. A 5L The Covenant will outperform a corrupted 6L and should be swapped into if possible.
To look for a corrupted 6-Link you’ll simply check the correct colours in the search configuration: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade, depending on the market a Tabula can be cheaper than a corrupted 6-Link, in most cases the corrupted chest is not just cheaper but straight up better as you can find anything providing a bit of life, resistances and/or attributes.
Give some priority to Energy Shield when considering your budget chest, as we would still like enough ES to be able to cast our blessing and this is a decent place to get some.
Gloves
Generic life gloves with any required resistances and/or attributes:
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Elemental Resistances unless capped (75%)
3. Dexterity and/or Strength if you need more to be able to use your skill-gems
4. Chaos Resistance
Boots
Look for high Life, Attributes & Resistances, as needed. Higher budget options are rather limited in this slot, but getting “+ level of Spectre gems” from an Elder pair of boots is a nice touch, even for the high budget I wouldn’t personally bother. Instead, I would go for high Movement Speed to be my priority on top of the defensive stats.
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Movement Speed
3. Elemental Resistances unless capped (75%)
4. Dexterity and/or Strength if you need more to be able to use your skill-gems
5. Chaos Resistance
Belt
We’ll be using the unique: Darkness Enthroned as it scales the modifiers on socketed abyssal jewels inside of it by 50-100%!
Jewel Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Minion Accuracy (Check PoB “Calcs” tab for each of your minions to verify that they indeed have 100% chance to hit enemies. This requires in the end game, either Blind, 250 accuracy on a jewel, or the mastery for accuracy)
3. Added flat chaos damage to your minions
4. Increased x% minion damage, when you’ve used a minion skill recently
5. Minion attack speed
6. Attributes and/or resistances if needed
Accessories
Amulet
We’ll utilize The Jinxed Juju for extra layers of defense here.
The anoint you want is Testudo to start with for cheap extra block, then Death Attunement when you can afford it and have a good rolled neck.
Rings
Rings are a great slot to cover resistances as well as any lacking attributes. Do keep in mind that for the low budget non-poison variant you NEED to use 1x Unset Ring to make room for all your skill-gems. It is also highly recommended to run 1x Bone Ring as this combined with your ascendancy nodes will cap your minions elemental resistances!
Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Elemental Resistances unless capped (75%)
3. Attributes if needed
4. Chaos Resistance
5. Minion Damage and/or Minion Attack speed (Only applicable on the Bone Ring)
Weapon
The low budget hybrid variant will use a standard minion weapon with either + to level of fire, minion and/or all spell skills, preferably with a trigger bench-craft which you can get from unveiling items dropped via the Betrayal league mechanic (Jun). The trigger craft is not mandatory for this build but offers some quality of life to trigger your Desecrate & Bone Offering should you choose to get one.
Modifier Priority List:
1. +1 Level of Spell skills (Minion or Fire skills work as well)
2. Minion damage
3. Minion attack speed
Higher budget poison variant will simply go for the United in Dream, its worth noting this should be a priority upgrade as soon as you can afford it.
Cluster Jewels
The large-cluster jewel we’ll be using in this build can be of any item level making it hilariously cheap as the only modifier we are hunting for is the Call to the Slaughter notable, though its worth noting that if you have any % inc effect and some attack speed then No notables is also very acceptable. The amount of passives on the jewel doesn’t matter but I would recommend trying to get one with 10-12 passive points to have more damage from it in the end-game.
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
The PoB is showcasing another flask set-up that works fine as well, again, this is mostly a matter of personal preference when it comes to the utility flasks.
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | “Seething” Divine Life Flask of | Instant life flask that also removes bleed effects from you |
2 | Granite Flask | This flask is needed for our Armour, but all important flask affixes are already filled. So any extra mod you want will do |
3 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Basalt Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | The prefix modifier helps sustain the flask charges during map clearing & the flask provides increased physical damage mitigation whilst the suffix increase your armor significantly |
4 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Granite Flask | Further scaling of your armor to mitigate more physical damage, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
5 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Silver Flask | The onslaught helps not just our movement speed but the speed of which you summon your minions, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
For help crafting your non-Unique flasks, we recommend checking out our Flask Crafting Guide.
Jewels
We’ll be exclusively using Ghastly Eye Jewel as they provide minion related modifiers. Thanks to Darkness Enthroned we can put our best jewels in there to further scale those modifiers.
Jewel Modifier Priority List:
1. Minions Have x% chance to poison (till your capped)
2. Life
3. Minion Accuracy (Check PoB “Calcs” tab for your SRS to verify that they indeed have 100% chance to hit enemies)
4. Added flat chaos damage to your minions
5. Increased x% minion damage, when you’ve used a minion skill recently
6. Minion attack speed
7. Attributes and/or resistances if needed
There is a noteworthy mention here of Energy Shield option for Ghastly eye jewels. This is a bandaid fix and should not be relied upon. But should you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have enough energy shield, and shifting 4-5pieces of gear around to fix the problem simply being too expensive:
A ghastly eye or two with ES in place of your damage ghastlies (NOT the poison ones) is a possibility. Again, emergency bandaid option, avoid if possible.
