TbXie's Toxic Rain DoT Trickster Passive Skill Tree and Gem Links (PoE Necropolis)
Passive Skill Tree
You can find an optimized Path of Building here. Every build I release will use the community fork of Path of Building. You can find PoB’s Fork, by LocalIdentity, here.
If you are not comfortable with Path of Building, PoePlanner’s website offers you a non-PoB alternative to import the code from the above link. it is highly recommended you install Path of Building to follow builds most optimally.
For more information about the appropriate gear choices and their breakdown, please refer to our Gear page.
Gem Links
Toxic Rain – Main Link (6-Link)
We’re listing Awakened Gems here because they’re really important for your build. Since the build wants Ailment-related Awakened gems, you can generally pick those up relatively cheaply. Obviously, feel free to use regular versions before upgrading to the Awakened versions.
- Toxic Rain (21/20 Ideally!)
- Empower Support (level 4)
- Mirage Archer Support
- Awakened Void Manipulation Support
- Efficacy Support
- Awakened Vicious Projectiles Support
Auras
You need to run all of these gems in The Devouring Diadem in order to fit them all. Before you obtain this build-enabling unique, you’re bound to drop an aura. This is highly preference, but I suggest dropping Determination.
Wither Setup
Wither increases the amount of damage your target takes tremendously, but since you’re building pods, you can’t cast Wither yourself. Therefore, you use your second 6-Link to maximize its damage output whilst maintaining that utility. Make sure to drop these down on the bosses!
- Toxic Rain
- Ballista Totem Support
- Multiple Totems Support
- Focused Ballista Support
- Withering Touch Support
- Vicious Projectiles Support
Utility Setup
Aside from a movement skill in Dash or Flame Dash you can use some Vaal Skills here. Vaal Blight & Haste amplifies your damage while Vaal Molten Shell is a nice mapping buff that gives you some extra beefiness.
- Dash
- Vaal Blight (level 1)
- Vaal Molten Shell
- Vaal Haste
Curse
You should be using a Despair. The most potent way to do it is by self-casting it. If you want to automate it, you could always run it on a ring through the “Curses Enemies with Despair on Hit” modifier. This modifier is obtainable on Hunter-Influenced rings. As of recently, the strongest quality effect for Despair is the “Anomalous” one. If you can afford one of these, don’t hesitate to pick one up.
Withering Step
Since we now are no longer running dodge, yet Elusive gives us flat avoidance, Withering Step becomes something we should consider. I would definitely include it consider linking it to Automation Support so you keep up your Elusive avoidance the entire time. The only downside is that it will consume your Dash charges – leaving you without that extra mobility. Should you opt into using this, there’s merit to using it linked to an Enhance Support.
